
2023 Brass Training Day
The 2023 Brass Training Day will take place at Hellesdon High School, Norwich on Sunday 29th October. Tutors for the event will be from the 2022 National Champions, the Foden's Band. The day will consist of both sectional and full band rehearsals.

The closing date for entries to the EABBA Virtual Solo & Ensemble Contest has now been extended to Saturday 30th September. This contest is open to any brass band player in the UK or from abroad. Results will still be announced at the Brass Training Day on Sunday 29th October.

& Ensemble Contest 2023
Following the success of our last two online Solo & Ensemble contests this year’s Solo & Ensemble contest will again be online. Closing date is 25th August and the results announced at the Brass Training Day at Hellesdon High School, Norwich on 29th October. The adjudicator for the contest is Mark Wilkinson, Principal Cornet of Foden's Band. Prizes include a free online lesson with a Foden's soloist. Grant from Postcode Places Trust
The East Anglian Brass Band Association is delighted to be awarded
a grant of £1,850.00 from Postcode Places Trust, a grant giving charity funded
entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
Christine Wade, the Association’s Secretary said “The Trustees
are delighted and very grateful to have received the grant from Postcode Places
Trust. The Association has been in existence for over 90 years and each year
since its formation (except during the Second World War and Covid) has
presented a concert in East Anglia by one of the top brass bands in the
country. In addition for many years the Association has organised a Brass
Training Day with tutors from the top bands for the benefit of brass musicians
from across East Anglia. The grant from Postcode Places Trust will be used towards
some of the costs incurred in presenting these events”.
The 2023 Brass Training Day is on 29th October at Hellesdon High School, Norwich with tutors from the Foden’s Band. The 2024 concert is on 2nd June at Norwich Citadel and will be performed by the Brighouse & Rastrick Band.
Postcode Places Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The East Anglian Brass Band Association received £1,850 from the Postcode Places Trust which will be used towards future events.

A concert to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III
On Sunday 7 May the Foden’s Band (National Champions 2021 and 2022) will perform a concert to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. The programme will include music for the Royal occasion and a “Last Night of the Proms” section.
Tickets are priced at £17.00 for the West Gallery and £15.00 for the Centre Stalls. There are discounts available for residents of Norfolk on tickets purchased by 31 March. Free tickets are available for young brass musicians (aged 16 and under) ordered before 31 March.

Euphonium/Baritone workshop
On Sunday 7 May between 10.00am and noon there will be a workshop for euphonium and baritone players in St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich. The workshop will be led by the Principal Euphonium of the Foden’s Band, Gary Curtin. The cost to delegates is £25.00 per person (£20.00 per person for members of bands belonging to EABBA). Delegates will receive a free Centre Stall ticket to the Foden’s concert which commences at 3.00pm.
