2023 Brass Training Day

On 29th October the Association held its Brass Training Day at Hellesdon High School, Norwich. 60 delegates had enrolled for the course with tutors from the Foden’s Band. Mark Bousie was the Course Leader and the Euphonium and Baritone Tutor. Other tutors were Mark Wilkinson (cornets), Jonathan Bates (flugels and tenor horns), Joe Purbrook (trombones) and Stuart Baglin (basses).
The delegates were privileged to accompany Jonathan Bates in the horn solo Slavische Fantasy (Hohne arr. Kerwin). Other music studied was The Bandwagon (Philip Sparke), Glow (Whitacre arr. Larsen), Prelude No. 1 (Joseph Knight), The Crazy Brass Machine (Mark Taylor arr. Sandy Smith), Across The Stars (Andrew Stevenson), and Mars, Mercury and Uranus from the Planets Suite.
